A personal accounting practice built on accuracy and trust

Independent UK accounting from Devi Gurung — practical, personal and grounded in the realities of running a small business.

Devi Gurung, Independent Accountant
The Practice

Independent by design — personal by choice

AccuLedger Solutions is independently owned and operated by Devi Gurung as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom. My name is Devi Gurung, and my practice exists to give independent UK businesses the kind of accounting attention that larger firms often struggle to provide.

I built this practice around three simple ideas: your records should be genuinely accurate, your reports should be genuinely useful, and your accountant should be genuinely reachable.

My Professional Background

Before establishing this practice, I spent years working closely with sole traders, freelancers and small business owners across a range of industries — retail, professional services, trades, creative work and consulting. That experience shaped the way I now work. Small businesses do not run on quarterly reports alone; they run on cash flow, invoices, receipts, deadlines and the confidence that their numbers are right. My work is designed to serve exactly that reality.

I chose to build an independent personal accounting practice because I wanted to offer a service that felt human and considered. Every client I work with speaks directly to me. Every record I manage is one I have looked at personally. Every report I send is one I would be comfortable defending line by line.

Financial Accuracy

Accuracy is not a marketing claim in this practice — it is a working discipline. Every engagement begins with a clear structure: a chart of accounts that fits your business, categorisation rules that make sense for your income and expenses, and reconciliation workflows that catch discrepancies before they become problems.

Bookkeeping is treated as an ongoing craft rather than a monthly rush. Transactions are recorded consistently, evidence is filed properly, and reconciliations are performed on a predictable rhythm. When your VAT return, Self Assessment or year-end review comes around, the underlying records are already in a state that makes the process straightforward.

When something looks unusual, I flag it. When a category is being used inconsistently, I clean it up. When a bank line does not match a receipt, I chase it down. The goal is simple: at any point in the year, you should be able to open your books and trust what you see.

Working with independent businesses

Independent businesses have specific pressures. Cash flow can be tight. Invoicing rhythms vary. Personal and business finances can blur if the boundaries are not carefully maintained. I work with those realities, not against them, and design each engagement so it supports the way your business actually operates.

Client Confidentiality

Every piece of information you share with this practice is handled with strict confidentiality. Financial records, bank information, invoices, payroll data and business plans are treated as sensitive by default. Information is only ever discussed with you, never shared with third parties without your explicit written instruction, and stored using appropriate technical safeguards.

Confidentiality is more than a policy — it is a working posture. I am careful about how information is transmitted, where it is stored, and how long it is retained. Documents are exchanged through secure channels rather than casual email attachments where sensitivity requires it, and access to your records is limited to what I need to serve you well.

Personal Service

You will not be routed through account managers or ticketing systems. When you contact this practice, you are contacting me directly. Replies are typically returned within one business day, and often the same day. Consultations are scheduled at times that work for your business, and repeat conversations build on what we have already discussed rather than starting from scratch.

Personal service also means honest advice. If a service you are asking about is not the right fit for your situation, I will say so. If a simpler package would meet your needs, I will recommend it. The long-term value of the relationship matters more than the size of any single engagement.

How I communicate

Technology-Driven Accounting

Modern accounting tools have transformed what a small independent practice can deliver. I use secure, cloud-based platforms for document exchange, structured bookkeeping tools for record-keeping, and modern reconciliation workflows to keep your records accurate without unnecessary manual work.

Technology is used to serve accuracy, not to replace judgement. Automated bank feeds, digital receipt capture and structured categorisation rules speed up the routine work. My time is then spent on the parts that genuinely need a professional eye: reviewing anomalies, interpreting the numbers, and helping you understand what they mean for your business.

Working with technology also makes remote engagements genuinely effective. Whether you are in Worthing, London, Manchester or anywhere else in the United Kingdom, the working relationship feels the same — structured, responsive and grounded in a shared view of your records.

Business Growth Support

Accounting is not only about looking backwards. Well-kept records are the foundation for better decisions about pricing, hiring, spending and investment. My practice is designed to support that forward-looking view alongside the day-to-day bookkeeping.

For ongoing clients, I build regular review moments into the engagement. These are structured conversations about what the numbers are showing — where income is growing, where costs are drifting, how cash flow is trending, and what the coming months look like. The aim is to give you information that is actionable, not just accurate.

Growth support is offered within the boundaries of an accounting practice. I do not offer regulated financial advice, investment recommendations or tax planning that requires specialist authorisation. Where a client's needs go beyond what an independent accountant should provide, I say so clearly and, where appropriate, suggest the type of qualified professional to speak to next.

Long-Term Client Relationships

The most valuable relationships this practice has built are the ones that have lasted years. Businesses evolve, records grow, and the shape of what a client needs shifts over time. A long-term working relationship makes it possible to notice those shifts early and adjust the service accordingly.

I approach every new engagement with that long view in mind. Even a single one-off review is structured to leave your records in better shape than I found them, so that whether you continue with this practice or not, you walk away with something genuinely useful.

What clients can expect

A Note on Structure

AccuLedger Solutions operates as an independent personal accounting practice run by Devi Gurung as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom. The business is not a limited company and does not present itself as one. All work is delivered personally by Devi Gurung, which is precisely what many independent UK businesses are looking for: a trusted individual, not a faceless firm.
