Anti-Money Laundering Statement

The practice's approach to anti-money laundering obligations.

Overview

This practice is committed to complying with UK anti-money laundering (AML) laws and to conducting business in a way that does not facilitate financial crime.

Client Due Diligence

Appropriate client due diligence is carried out before commencing engagements, including verification of identity and, where relevant, verification of the nature of the business.

Ongoing Monitoring

Client relationships and transactions are monitored on an ongoing basis for indicators of unusual or suspicious activity, taking into account the nature and scale of the engagement.

Reporting Obligations

Where circumstances give rise to a suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing, the practice will comply with its reporting obligations under UK law, including submission of Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency where required.

Records

Records of client due diligence and transaction monitoring are maintained for the periods required by law.

Client Cooperation

Clients are expected to cooperate with reasonable requests for information required to satisfy AML obligations. Where satisfactory information cannot be obtained, the practice reserves the right to decline or discontinue an engagement.
