Common questions about working with an independent accountant

Twenty-five practical answers to the questions asked most often before starting an engagement.

Is AccuLedger Solutions a limited company?

No. AccuLedger Solutions is independently owned and operated by Devi Gurung as a Sole Trader in the United Kingdom. All work is delivered personally by Devi Gurung.

Who will actually be working on my accounts?

Every engagement is delivered directly by Devi Gurung. You will not be routed through account managers or junior staff.

Do I have to be based in Worthing to work with you?

No. The practice serves clients across the United Kingdom entirely remotely.

How do consultations work?

Consultations are held by phone or secure video call at a scheduled time that suits your business.

How quickly do you respond to messages?

Messages are typically answered within one business day, and often much sooner.

Do you offer ongoing monthly accounting services?

Yes. The Business Accounts Management and Complete Accounting Support engagements are designed for ongoing monthly work.

Do you help with Self Assessment?

The practice supports the underlying bookkeeping and record management that Self Assessment relies on. Where specialist tax advice is required, I will say so clearly.

Are you able to give me tax advice?

The practice provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Regulated tax planning advice is outside the scope of this practice, and I will recommend appropriate specialist help where needed.

How do you handle my documents securely?

Sensitive documents are exchanged through encrypted, access-controlled channels rather than casual email attachments.

What bookkeeping software do you work with?

I work flexibly with the major cloud-based bookkeeping platforms and can advise on a suitable choice if you do not have one yet.

What if my records are in poor shape right now?

That is very common. The Financial Records Review and Bookkeeping Setup services are designed to bring records back into good order.

Do you work with brand new businesses?

Yes. Setting a business up on a professional bookkeeping foundation from day one is a common starting point.

Can I switch to you from another accountant?

Yes. Transitions are handled respectfully and are usually straightforward when historical records are reasonably organised.

Do you require long-term contracts?

No. Ongoing engagements continue on a rolling basis and can be paused or ended with reasonable notice.

How is pricing structured?

Fixed one-off packages have published prices. Ongoing engagements are quoted based on scope and confirmed in writing before any work begins.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are addressed in the Refund Policy, which sets out the circumstances in which a refund may be available.

How is payment handled?

Payment for fixed packages is processed securely through Stripe. Ongoing engagements are billed monthly.

Do you provide invoices for your services?

Yes. A clear invoice is issued for every payment received.

What if I only need help once a year?

Occasional or one-off engagements are welcome, particularly for financial reviews, VAT preparation or year-end tidy-ups.

Do you help with VAT returns themselves?

The practice focuses on VAT record management and compliance review, ensuring your underlying records support accurate submissions.

How is my personal data protected?

Personal data is handled in line with UK data protection law and this practice's published Data Protection and Privacy policies.

Do you have professional indemnity considerations?

As an independent practice, appropriate professional standards are maintained for the services offered.

What sort of businesses do you typically work with?

Sole traders, freelancers, consultants, tradespeople, small retailers and contractors — the independent segment of the UK economy.

What happens if I stop trading?

Any engagement can be wound down cleanly, with your records returned to you in an organised state.
